Killer whales attack and sink sailing boat off Gibraltar

An unknown number of orcas rammed a sailing yacht in Moroccan waters in the Strait of Gibraltar on Sunday morning, causing it to later sink, the latest attack in a trend that has been terrifying sailors in the region for the past four years.

Rare plant found in Wisconsin after not being seen since 1911

A population of the rare plant known as Maryland Senna (Senna marilandica) was rediscovered by a Wisconsin DNR volunteer along with a habitat biologist in the southwest part of the state after not being seen for more than 100 years, state officials say. 

Feather transplant? MN orgs team up to save swans

Earlier this year, two trumpeter swans were brought in just days apart to Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Roseville. The majority of feathers on both wings of one swan and half of the other were severely tattered, requiring a "feather transplant."
