'Extensive' damage to Plymouth home after vehicle fire spreads
PLYMOUTH, Minn. (FOX 9) - A fire caused "extensive damage" to home in Plymouth Friday afternoon, according to Plymouth Deputy Fire Chief Dave Dreelan.
Dreelan says at 12:20 p.m. firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in a driveway near Harbor Lane and 10th Avenue North. By the time the fire department arrived, the flames had spread to the home.
The homeowner got out of the house in time and was not injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Due to the cold temperatures, the department doubled the amount of responders to the fire.
Following the heavy snowfall, Dreelan is encouraging residents to clear snow near hydrants to help firefighters with a quick response.
