Body found by St. Croix River ID'd as missing Minnesota man

Hue Ver, 49, was reported missing on July 12 and his kayak was found abanonded on the shore of the St. Croix River. 

A body found by two hunters near the St. Croix River in Wisconsin has since been identified as that of a man who went missing in July.

Tuesday morning, the Polk County sheriff’s office received a call of what appeared to be a deceased person near the St. Croix River bottoms of the Interstate State Park off of County Road S, North of 113th Ave.  

When authorities located the body, it appeared that the person had been at that location for some period of time. Investigators were unable to locate any type of possible identifying information for the person at the scene. 

As of Wednesday evening, the medical examiner's office positively identified Vue Her of Oakdale, Minn., as the deceased person located by the hunters in the river bottoms. Her was reported as a missing person to the Chisago County sheriff’s department in July of 2017.

The manner of death is still pending at this time.
