BCA identifies officers involved in deadly St. Paul shooting
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has identified the two police officers involved in the deadly officer-involved shooting in St. Paul Sunday morning.
According to the BCA, Matthew Jones, a five-year veteran of the St. Paul Police Department and Vincent Adams, another five-year veteran of the SPPD, were the officers involved.
Both officers have been placed on standard administrative leave.
The BCA also officially identified William Hughes, 43, of St. Paul as the victim. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the BCA’s preliminary investigation, the two officers encountered Hughes in an enclosed porch at his home at 905 St. Anthony Ave. At some point, the officers shot Hughes.
Both officers were wearing body cameras at the time of the shooting.
The investigation is still open.
