A coach bus was involved in a crash on eastbound I-94 and Highway 241 in St. Michael, Minnesota, Saturday evening.

The bus driver had an unknown medical episode, according to Lt. Tiffani Nielson with the Minnesota State Patrol.

Just before 7 p.m., the bus went into the median and continued traveling for approximately a quarter-mile, striking trees and a freeway sign as it reentered I-94 eastbound. Eventually, the bus landed in a ditch, Minnesota State Patrol said.

According to authorities, the bus driver was transported to North Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Five passengers were sent to Monticello Hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries. Four additional passengers were injured, but did not require medical attention at a hospital.

The bus was carrying a basketball team from the Highland Community College of Freeport, Illinois.
