Expect traffic delays during funeral procession for Officer Gomm Thursday

As officials prepare for the funeral of fallen corrections officer Joseph Gomm, drivers are warned to avoid the area of the procession Thursday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, several ramps in the Arden Hills and Roseville areas will be closed during the procession.

Starting around noon, the following ramps will be closed:

Eastbound Interstate 694 to southbound Snelling Avenue

Eastbound ramp from from Highway 36 to southbound Snelling Ave.

Westbound Highway 36 to southbound Snelling Ave.

The funeral procession will begin at North Heights Lutheran Church, 1700 W. Highway 96 in Arden Hills. Several hundred vehicles are expected to be part of the procession.

Officer Gomm died July 18 at Stillwater Prison after he was attacked by an inmate.
