Final Four teams fly in, check into Minneapolis hotels Wednesday
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Final Four teams have arrived as Virginia, Michigan State, Auburn and Texas Tech checked into their Minneapolis hotels Wednesday.
Texas Tech led the way, flying in Wednesday morning and Virginia, Auburn and Michigan State landed later Wednesday evening.
The teams' arrivals sparked further excitement after the ferris wheel was unveiled earlier in the day.
Texas Tech is staying downtown Minneapolis at the Radisson Blu. Across the street, Auburn will be staying at the Marriott.
Virginia pulled into the Marquette Hotel earlier this evening and the staff was there to greet them as the hotel was decked out in team colors.
There is a good amount of security surrounding the players, with the Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies on hand to make sure things go smoothly.
The last team to arrive Wednesday was Michigan State, who is staying at the Hyatt Regency, where signs and murals welcoming the players were prominently displayed.
Not many fans are in town yet, but hotels told FOX 9 that many are coming in Friday, with some big groups coming in on chartered flights.
There will be plenty to do when they arrive with Fan Fest and Tip-Off Tailgate before live music at the Armory.
For now, the players are resting in Minneapolis ahead of a very busy few days.
