Husband dead, wife in custody after alleged domestic assault in Bloomington
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) - A woman is in custody after an alleged domestic assault at their home in Bloomington, Minnesota, Saturday night that resulted in her husband’s death.
The 51-year-old woman called police around 8 p.m. after she and her husband, identified as 53-year-old Michael Scott Carpenter, reportedly had a "domestic dispute" at their home on the 10000 block of Utica Circle, according to Bloomington Police.
When officers arrived, Carpenter was found lying unconscious with injuries to his upper body. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner determined he died of complications of blunt force head injuries.
Carpenter’s wife is currently in custody on probable cause murder charges.
