Man charged in August shooting behind Bullwinkle's Saloon
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - A St. Paul, Minnesota man has been charged in a fatal shooting in the parking lot outside of Bullwinkle’s Saloon at Seven Corners in Minneapolis last August.
On Aug. 31, shortly after 3 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Bullwinkle’s Saloon on the 1400 block of Washington Avenue. When they arrived, they found Abdullahi Said Awil, 24, of Minneapolis, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
After reviewing footage from several surveillance video systems in the area, police were able to identify 29-year-old Farhan Hersi as the shooter. Hersi was with a group of people, including Awil, when he shot Awil several times at close range before fleeing the scene.
