'Shoe Bus' sells donated shoes to combat hunger

(KMSP) - If you have gently used shoes that you don’t need anymore, they could provide groceries for people in need, just look for the Shoe Bus.

The Shoe Bus makes its way across the state of Minnesota selling gently used shoes for a heck of a deal - just $5 for adults' shoes, $2 for kids’ shoes and $10 for adult work boots. Fox 9 caught up with the bus recently making a stop at Grace Church in Eden Prairie.

All the money fuels a hunger program called Shoe Away Hunger, which was started by Pastor Shawn Morrison of Cedar Crest Free Methodist Church in Bloomington. The church helps to feed about 4,000 people every month and this shoe program creates a revenue stream for them. The project also keeps the shoes from ending up in a landfill.
