MnDOT officially closed all state highways in SW Minnesota
(KMSP) - The Minnesota Department of Transportation has officially closed all state highways in the southwestern part of the state as of late Saturday morning.
The Blizzard Warning was expanded to the south metro and rest of south central Minnesota, including Interstates 90 & 35. Whiteout conditions are expected to continue into early Sunday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, between Friday and Sunday morning there were 405 crashes (51 with injury) with 911 spinouts and 17 jackknifed semis.
There was also a fatal pedestrian crash Friday night in Medina.
