St. Francis student in custody after making threat against school
ST. FRANCIS, Minn. (KMSP) - A 17-year-old student is now in custody after making a verbal threat of violence against Crossroads School and Vocational Center in St. Francis, Minnesota, according to city and school district officials.
The incident was first reported to police on Thursday.
In response to the threat, leaders at St. Francis Area Schools decided to cancel all classes and evening activities on Friday.
The 17-year-old is in custody at Lino Lakes Correctional Facility.
Police say the threat is not related to any other previous incidents investigated by St. Francis police and there is no other known threat toward any St. Francis schools.
Earlier this week, a juvenile was taken into custody after a threat put Orono Schools on lockdown. According to the Hennepin County Attorney, that teen has been charged.
