Suspects lead police on 3 different pursuits after reports of shoplifting in Monticello
(FOX 9) - Hwy. 169 was reduced to one lane Wednesday after three separate pursuits ended in a crash at Benton Street in Anoka.
The incident began just after 1:50 p.m. when Wright County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Mills Fleet Farm in Monticello on a report of shoplifting. The suspect vehicle was seen pulling onto I-94 and deputies attempted a traffic stop. Then, the vehicle fled.
As it headed toward a more populated area, deputies terminated the pursuit, but 13 minutes later another deputy in Otsego spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it once more, leading to another pursuit.
The vehicle entered Hennepin County and Wright County ended its involvement near the city of Dayton.
Other agencies took on the chase on Hwy. 169 and eventually executed a PIT maneuver, ending the chase.
According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Department, three adult males and an adult female were in the vehicle when the pursuits occurred.
