Twins' stars hand out nearly 3,000 gloves to kids following afternoon game
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KMSP) - The Twins spent Wednesday afternoon taking on the Cardinals at Target Field, but perhaps the day's most impactful moments came off the field.
Minnesota standouts Byron Buxton and Eduardo Escobar spent their evening giving out more than 3,000 gloves to kids eight and under, giving back to the community while inspiring the next generation of baseball players.
"Just to be able to come out here and give back to the community and put smiles on kids' faces, that's what it's all about," Buxton said.
Since 1993 the Twins' Community Fund has contributed nearly $2 million to both the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board and the City of St. Paul Division of Parks and Recreation.
