Twins' Brian Dozier traded to Los Angeles Dodgers
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Minnesota Twins fan favorite Brian Dozier is heading out west.
As the trade deadline came to a close Tuesday afternoon, the Twins announced they sealed a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers trading Dozier for Dodger second baseman Logan Forsythe and two prospects - left-handed pitcher Devin Smeltzer and outfield/first baseman Luke Raley.
Dozier has been with the Twins for almost seven seasons, joining the team in 2012. This season, he has recorded a .224 batting average and 16 home runs. Just two seasons ago, Dozier hit 42 home runs, making himself one of only two Twins players to hit more then 40 in one season. Last year, Dozier also won the AL Golden Glove Award.
Forsythe is in his eighth season in the pros. This season, he has a .207 batting average.
