Twins' Brian Dozier hosts cookout at Boys and Girls Club
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Instead of turning doubles, Twins second baseman Brian Dozier spent Tuesday morning turning out hot dogs and burgers for a good cause.
As a part of the Twins’ Hope Week, Tuesday morning Brian Dozier hosted a cookout for kids at the Southside Boys and Girls Club in Minneapolis.
This week, the Twins organization is reaching out to different organizations to give them a boost.
Dozier did his part saying that the work he put in at the Boys and Girls Club is more important than anything he does on the field.
“We get so caught up the baseball world, so often – which is not life, that’s not even close to life,” said Dozier. “It’s the platform we’re given, but that’s not what it’s all about. It’s about stuff like this and interacting with kids and enhancing their lives for them to become better people. They’re the leaders of the future and that’s all you can ask for.”
