Vikings playoff tickets an unbelievable 100th birthday gift for Millie Wall

Millie Wall will turn 100 years old this year, and she’s getting a special early birthday gift from the Minnesota Vikings. The team is giving Millie tickets to the Vikings-Saints playoff game – her first ever playoff game – and hope she can help push her favorite team into the NFC Championship Game.

Video of the playoff ticket surprise was captured by her granddaughter, Ashley Wall.
“You’ve gotta be kidding,” Millie said.

Millie has attended a few Vikings games at the Metrodome and the old Met Stadium, and has even made a Lambeau Field road trip. But she’s never seen a Vikings game at U.S. Bank Stadium. Now, she’ll be in the crowd for the biggest game yet in the new stadium.

As the Vikings put it, “You’re never too old to attend your first Vikings playoff game.”

Ashley Wall told Vikings.com you can usually find Millie watching the Vikings from her living room on Sundays, sipping a screwdriver and watching the game. It’s also not uncommon to see Millie throw a foam brick at the TV during the game.

“It’s funny, she actually tied a string to it because she got tired of going to retrieve it,” Ashley told Vikings.com. “But even through the ups and downs, she’s been a fan through it all.”

The Vikings-Saints matchup was sealed with a Los Angeles Rams loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday, followed by the Saints’ 31-26 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Earlier this season, the Vikings faced the Saints at home for the opener on Sept. 11, beating them 29-19

The Vikings-Saints game is set to start at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14 on FOX 9.
