1 dead, 1 severely injured in head-on crash in northwestern Wisconsin

One driver is dead and another severely injured after a head-on collision in northwestern Wisconsin early Tuesday morning. 

At 4:34 a.m., Polk County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a crash on Highway 35 in St. Croix Township. 

An investigation revealed a 2004 Saturn Ion was traveling northbound on Highway 35 when it crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

The driver of the Saturn Ion, Kenneth Jones of St. Paul, Minnesota, was killed in the crash. The driver of the Chevy Impala, Dustin Coury of Balsam Lake, Wis., sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital by air ambulance. His condition is unknown. 

The crash remains under investigation.
