14-year-old boy dead after shooting in Princeton, Minn.
PRINCETON, Minn. (KMSP) - A 14-year-old boy is dead after a shooting at a home in Princeton, Minnesota Monday afternoon.
The shooting took place shortly before 4 p.m. on the 1300 block of 15th Avenue North. Upon arrival, police found a 14-year-old boy dead at the home. Family members have identified him as Eric Nelson.
"My baby was a strong willed kid," said Laurie Blegen-Nelson, Eric's mother. "He had a big heart and loved his big brother and two sisters more than life itself. He loved riding his bike, building things with Legos and playing video games."
Another 14-year-old boy from Sherburne County was identified at the scene.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Princeton Police Department and the Mille Lacs County sheriff’s office are investigating the shooting. Authorities do not believe there is a danger to the public.
