17-year-old charged in New Hope 'Nerf Wars' crash

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has filed charges against a 17-year-old  in connection with a May crash in New Hope related to the ‘Nerf Wars’ game. The crash injured two Armstrong high school students.

The juvenile male has been charged with two felony counts of criminal vehicular operation.

Police say the vehicle was going about 40 miles per hour on 46th Avenue when it went through a stop sign at Winnetka Avenue and collided another vehicle.

Police say the driver and passenger in the vehicle were playing the “Nerf Wars” game and chasing another vehicle that was also playing the game.
