24-year-old passenger killed in Fridley crash after driver crosses median

A 24-year-old passenger was killed when a driver lost control, skidding across the center median and into oncoming traffic in Fridley, Minn. Sunday night.

After skidding into traffic across the median, the vehicle was struck by a small SUV traveling south on University Avenue at about 6:35 p.m. The 24-year-old woman, whose name hasn’t been released, was pronounced dead on-scene and a 5-year-old boy in the vehicle was brought to an area hospital in serious condition. The driver was not hurt.

The crash being investigated by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, The Fridley Police Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Another Sunday night crash left one juvenile dead and one seriously injured near Elko New Market on Sunday night.
