JACKSONVILLE, Florida (AP) - The Jacksonville County Sheriff's Office confirmed three people, including the gunman, are dead after he opened fire at a video gaming competition Sunday.
In a news conference Sunday evening, officials also said nine others were shot at the restaurant and two others were injured fleeing the scene.
Officials identified the shooter as a 24-year-old Baltimore, Maryland man that was in Jacksonville for the gaming event. Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said he believed the shooter is David Katz.
Williams said Katz committed the shooting with a single handgun and confirmed Katz died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sounds of the shooting were captured as the gaming tournament was being livestreamed.
The tournament was for Madden '19, a football video game. EA Sports, the game's maker, lists David Katz as a 2017 championship winner.
