Fourth of July evening weather update
With many people having plans to watch Fourth of July fireworks the threat of sever weather has diminished across most of Minnesota, but a marginal risk remains in southern Minnesota and eastern Wisconsin. Lingering light showers might flare up still right around the time of fireworks shows.
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (FOX 9) - Chances for showers and thunderstorms that passed through this morning will linger into tonight as a cold front continues to move across central Minnesota and to the east into Wisconsin.
The threat for severe weather has greatly diminished, but a marginal risk still remains in southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Most areas to the north and west of the metro should be dry for 4th of July fireworks on Tuesday night. However, spotty showers are still possible for the Twin Cities during firework shows.
Cooler and drier air will move in on Wednesday behind the cold front, as Wednesday and Thursday will be quiet with a mostly sunny sky.
High temperatures will be below average in the mid-70s before returning to the low 80s for the weekend.
