Quinton Carlson, a tuber on the Apple River and witness to the incident, testified on Tuesday. Quinton, who was about 100 feet away, heard the teenagers say Miu was a pedophile and sent his sons over to the group of teenagers because he was worried about Miu, who had approached the group of tubers. He did not believe Miu was actually a pedophile; he saw a situation and didn't want it to escalate.
Quinton said he wasn't drinking at all, but members of his tubing party were. He recalled Miu stopping the teenagers' tubes from going down the river. He remembers seeing his son, Dante Carlson, strike Miu and he yelled out to stop. He said this was before learning Miu had hit Madison Coen and prior to knowing anyone had been stabbed.
He did not see where Miu went after the stabbing, noting he was worried about his children, one of whom was tending to AJ Martin, who had been stabbed.
