Arrest made in crash that killed Shakopee HS student
LAS VEGAS (KMSP) - A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a fatal rollover crash in Scott County that killed a Shakopee High School student, according to Scott County Sheriff Luke Hennen.
The U.S. Marshall's Service arrested him Wednesday in Las Vegas, Nevada on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide and two counts of criminal vehicular operation.
On September 14, Scott County Sheriff's officials responded to a rollover crash near the 13800 block of Zumbro Avenue in Jackson Township, Minn. Ja'Mason Moffett, a 16-year-old junior at Shakopee High School, died in the crash. Four others were injured in the crash.
Earlier in the investigation, one of the juveniles involved in the crash told police she had been driving, but she later said the 20-year-old was the driver. The suspect later admitted via text message that he was driving.
He is in custody at Clark County Detention Center in Nevada and is awaiting extradition to Minnesota.
