ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (FOX 9) - Police in St. Louis Park, Minnesota say a boy was shot near where the city’s Fourth of July fireworks display took place, but that the shooting was not intentional.
According to the St. Louis Park Police Department, police responded to a location on Aquila Avenue South in St. Louis Park around 10:44 p.m. Sunday night. The city’s fireworks celebration took place at nearby Aquila Park beginning at 10 p.m. that night.

Police: Boy shot in St. Louis Park likely hit by 'reckless' celebratory gunfire
Police in St. Louis Park, Minnesota say a boy was shot near where the city’s Fourth of July fireworks display took place, but that the shooting was not intentional.
The boy’s injury was not life threatening and police say it was "consistent with a gunshot wound."
In a release Tuesday, the St. Louis Park Police Department said the gunfire was not deliberate and may have been the result of someone shooting a firearm into the air indiscriminately. Police called it "reckless behavior."
The boy was hospitalized at Hennepin County Medical Center for his injuries.
