BURNSVILLE, Minn. (FOX 9) - Five people were injured after a shooting Friday night at a park in Burnsville.
What we know
Burnsville police responded to a report of multiple shots fired at Red Oak Park at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30. Officers located multiple gunshot victims when they arrived at the park.
Three victims were taken to a local hospital, one victim showed up at the hospital on their own, and one victim was treated and released at the scene.
Police say some suspects reportedly fled the scene and ran through the park's wooded area.
No arrests have been made.
Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted Burnsville police with the incident.
Police continue to process the scene at the park, and the public is asked to avoid the area.

I cannot overstate the importance of these partnerships, especially during critical incidents," said Burnsville Police Chief Tanya Schwartz. "It is through these partnerships and with collaboration and cooperation from our community that we have the best chance to solve these senseless crimes."
"We want to thank those members of the public who called 9-1-1 to report this incident and provided information on what they saw. They helped their fellow citizens in a time of need. Now, we are asking other members of the public if you know something about those who may be responsible to come forward," Schwartz said. "The help of everyone who knows something, saw something or can provide information is critical. I can’t stress enough the need for cooperation from the members of the public who have information to come forward. Finding those responsible will make our community safer."
What we don't know
Details on the extent of the injuries have not been released.
It is unknown what led to the shootings. Burnsville police will continue their investigation Saturday.
