Bus driver, 14 passengers wade through waist-high water in Stearns Co.

A small bus with 14 people aboard got stuck in rising water in Oak Township and waded through waist-high water to escape as rain poured in parts of Stearns County Saturday night.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a hazard at about 11:20 p.m. after a caller reported she and her husband were stuck in separate vehicles, the water rising near the intersection of County Road 157 and County Road 172. When officers arrived, several vehicles were surrounded by water. The bus driver, who suffered undisclosed injuries, and 14 passengers were able to walk through waist-deep water to a dry area.

The driver, Richard Rosen, 54, was taken to the Albany Hospital.

Several other Stearns County roads were under water and local fire departments and the Stearns County Highway Department blocked them off.
