EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) - A suspect fleeing police crashed a car into a bus Friday morning in Eden Prairie, Minn. One person in a wheelchair was onboard the bus at the time of the accident, which happened at the intersection of Valley View Road and Eden Prairie Road.
According to Eden Prairie police, an officer saw the car speeding westbound on Valley View Road. When they attempted to stop the car, the suspect sped up and fled. The officer terminated the pursuit prior to the crash.
The car t-boned a Transit Team accessible bus driven by Tommy Potter, 63, of Burnsville, Minn., causing it to roll on its side. Potter and the passenger he was driving at the time were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the car, 29-year-old John Stansberry of Eden Prarie, was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Alcohol was detected on Stansberry at 8:41 a.m.
Stansberry could potential felony charges for fleeing police in a motor vehicle, as well as charges for criminal vehicular operation and DWI.
