Club NOMADIC canceled, high profile performances moved to Mystic Lake Casino

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (KMSP) - Club NOMADIC, the pop-up nightclub at Mystic Lake Casino that had events throughout Super Bowl weekend, has been canceled. Most of the performances will instead take place inside the casino, organizers say. 

Dakota February Events, LLC, owned by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, announced Friday the high profile performances for Feb. 1-4, 2018 had been called off. The 64,000 square-foot "traveling nightlife experience" made its first appearance at the Super Bowl in Houston last year.

"Unfortunately, as the event approached, we determined it would be impossible to ensure an event that is up to our standards of quality," Angela Heikes, a Dakota February Events spokesperson, said in a statement.

Tickets for the shows had already been on sale. The Chainsmokers, Kygo, Florida Georgia Line and Gwen Stefani will still perform, but will move to venues inside Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, according to a news release.

The Chainsmokers will perform at Mystic Lake Center on Thursday, Feb. 1 and Kygo will perform there on Friday, Feb. 2. Florida Georgia Line will play the Mystic Showroom on Saturday, Feb. 3. Gwen Stefani will close out the weekend with a performance at Mystic Lake Center on Super Bowl Sunday. 

Dakota February Events says it will release more information on the performances at a later date. 

Elle Goulding was also supposed to perform Club NOMADIC on Feb. 2 with Kygo, but information on her performance is "forthcoming." 

There will also be other events and activities at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel on Super Bowl weekend, including Deuces Wild, a "nightlife entertainment experience featuring regional acts and DJs," organizers say.
