The Minneapolis community gathered for a prayer vigil for the boys who fell from an apartment building in the Whittier neighborhood earlier this week.

Both children were on the roof of the Karmel Village apartment building Thursday afternoon. Police say they climbed over a barrier and ultimately fell 55 feet before landing on a patio below.

Many gathered Saturday to mourn for a 2-year-old boy who lost his life. They prayed for a healthy recovery for his little brother, who is still in the hospital.

Police say it was an accident. They do not expect criminal charges to be filed.

"I think more than 300 people came today and that means a lot," said one vigil attendee Saturday. "It's painful to lose one kid, but also to have another in the hospital...really, they can use all the help they can get."
