WILLMAR, Minn. (KMSP) - The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a person found a dead dog attached to a boat anchor in a lake near Willmar, Minnesota.
According to a press release, Tuesday around 8:50 a.m. a person reported finding a dead dog floating in Point Lake.
Investigators discovered the dog was tied to a boat anchor where the water was about six feet deep approximately a quarter mile west of the boat access. The dog was about 200 feet away from the north shore.
Officials described the dog as a female Springer Spaniel, mostly white but with black on its head and back end. The dog was about five years old.
The Kandiyohi/Meeker County Humane Society did not find an identification chip on the dog.
