Delta flight attendants get into fist fight on LA to Minneapolis flight

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - A Delta flight from Los Angeles to Minneapolis was grounded last month after two flight attendants got into a fist fight during an argument over work issues. Flight 2598 was at cruising altitude on Jan. 22 when the pilot decided to divert the aircraft to Salt Lake City to “hear from his flight attendants,” according to The Aviation Herald, which first reported the incident.

The flight was grounded at Salt Lake City for about 80 minutes, eventually arriving in Minneapolis with a 75-minute delay.

“Delta apologizes to those customers who were inconvenienced after Flight 2598 from Los Angeles to Minneapolis-St. Paul made an unscheduled stop in Salt Lake City following an altercation involving two flight attendants on board,” Delta Air Lines said in a statement to Fox 9. “The actions of these crew members in no way reflect the values and professionalism we expect from all of our employees.”

Delta said it provided its passengers with a letter of apology and travel vouchers or SkyMiles credits immediately upon landing in Minneapolis.

“We strive to ensure that every customer has a great experience with Delta," the airline said. "We regret that our customers’ experience did not live up to our expectations."
