EF-0 tornado touched down in northwest Wisconsin on Independence Day

A National Weather Service survey crew determined an EF-0 tornado touched down in Rusk County, Wisconsin on the evening of Independence Day, according to a recent tweet.

Preliminary results from the damage survey show the tornado stayed on the ground for eight miles and was about 100 yards wide.

The wind speeds reached up to 85 miles per hour.

Photos showed multiple downed trees and branches in the area.
