MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Minneapolis Fire Department is investigating a fire that occurred an abandoned house in Uptown Friday morning.
The fire started shortly before 8 a.m. at a boarded up, single-family home on the 1700 block of W. Lake Street, according to the fire department.
When firefighters arrived, the fire was on the exterior porch extending into the wall. They knocked the fire on the porch down from the outside and began removing boards to gain access to the rest of the house.
By 8:25 a.m., the bulk of the fire was knocked down.
No one was in the house at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
