Highway 23 reopens in Carlton County after June flooding damage
CARLTON COUNTY, Minn. (KMSP) - A section of Highway 23 south of Jay Cooke State Park is open again to traffic after it was washed out during flooding in mid-June, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Flooding damage from heavy rains made the road impassable, tearing the asphalt into shreds.
Construction crews completed work on Friday. DOT officials shared pictures of the finished road, showing the stark contrast from when it was destroyed last month.
