The Minnesota DNR is allowing anglers to harvest just one walleye each this upcoming season on Lake Mille Lacs. The DNR says the historically-strict regulations are needed to sustain a healthy walleye population in the lake.
The DNR head of fisheries will testify at Wednesday's hearing, along with a Mille Lacs County board commissioner and several resort owners. This is an informational hearing, meaning no bill is assigned to it, but the debate should be contentious.
