After months of searching, Madeline Kingsbury's body has been found and her ex-partner Adam Fravel has been charged with her murder.

Winona law enforcement confirmed the human remains found alongside a remote stretch of Highway 43 Wednesday afternoon is Madeline Kingsbury

Winona Police Chief Tom Williams said a Fillmore County investigator located Maddi’s body around 1:30 pm. Wednesday, June 7, in a wooded area along a remote stretch of gravel road on Highway 43. The investigator was following up on a tip related to electronic evidence and checked the area where he located the body.

"We’re relieved that Madeline has been found after months of intensive searching and grateful for the extraordinary efforts by law enforcement, other first responders, and volunteers," David Kingsbury, Maddi's dad, said in a statement to FOX 9.

Because of the discovery, police arrested Adam Fravel, the father of Maddi's children, on suspicion of intentional second-degree murder. Police said he was taken into custody around 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday without incident at a residence in Mable, Minnesota.
