Man found dead inside car in Minneapolis on Mississippi River embankment

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - One man was found dead inside a vehicle that was found on the Mississippi River embankment in Minneapolis Sunday morning.

What we know: According to Minneapolis Park Police, just before 8 a.m., authorities responded to reports of car crash damage at 33rd Street and West River Parkway.
At the scene, a man was found dead inside a vehicle that was found at the bottom of a steep embankment, partially in the Mississippi River, police said.
The man's body was recovered by the Minneapolis Fire Department.
Authorities say the parkway remains closed between 31st and 35th Streets.
What we don't know: The identity of the man and his cause of death will be confirmed by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
What caused the crash is currently unknown.
Law enforcement did not say if any other vehicles were involved.
