Man found after escaping from Hennepin County jail Wednesday

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - A man escaped from the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center in downtown Minneapolis Wednesday morning and was later found in Little Canada, Minn. 

The man, 57-year- old Michael Frank Simon, was booked into the jail on Sept. 25 for financial transaction card fraud and a MN Department of Corrections hold for burglary. 

At about 7 a.m., Simon escaped from the jail. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office immediately notified local law enforcement and began a coordinated search, which ended later Wednesday morning.
