Man taken to hospital after police pursuit in Brooklyn Center
BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (KMSP) - One man is in the hospital after a short police chase in Brooklyn Center, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
Around 3:05 p.m., officers responded to a a report of a suicidal man in a vehicle near County Highway 81 and Highway 100. Police were unable to stop the vehicle and eventually used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle at 4900 block of Brooklyn Boulevard.
When police tried making contact with the man, he fired his gun. The officers fired back using "less-lethal munitions."
Emergency crews took the man, who had a gunshot wound, to the hospital.
No officers were injured.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case at the request of the Brooklyn Center Police Department.
