Massive pileup on ramp from Highway 100 to I-394
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Several vehicles were involved in crashes on the ramp from Highway 100 to eastbound Interstate 394, prompting the ramp to close Monday morning.
At least nine vehicles were involved in the pileup.
Overnight rain led to slick spots and localized flooding on roads across the Twin Cities metro Monday morning, which spelled trouble for the morning commute. Sidewalks were also treacherous for pedestrians.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, statewide from 6-11 a.m., there were 115 crashes, including 18 with injuries, as well as 81 spin-outs/vehicles off the road.
With localized flooding, the City of St. Paul is reminding residents to clear off their nearest storm drain of any excess snow and ice.
"This helps prevent localized street flooding by allowing runoff to drain into the storm sewer system," the city said in a tweet Monday.
