Mayo Clinic named one of best hospitals in America

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 9) - The Mayo Clinic has again ranked among the best hospitals in America.
That's according to Healthgrades' America's 50 Best Hospitals list for 2025, which was released this week.

Local perspective:
Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato and Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary's Campus ranked in the top 1% of hospitals in America, according to Healthgrades newest ranking of the top 50 Best Hospitals for 2025.

Mayo Clinics hospitals in Arizona and Florida also made the list.
"These results are a testament to staff's commitment to our shared vision, mission and primary value," Dr. Sean Dowdy, chief value officer at Mayo Clinic, said in a statement. "This commitment resonates with both patients and the public, and these results reinforce what our patients consistently express — that Mayo provides a standard of care that surpasses any other healthcare organization."
Healthgrades also ranked the top 100 Best Hospitals and top 250 Best Hospitals, which represent the top 2% and 5% of hospitals for clinical performance, respectively.
No other Minnesota hospitals made the expanded rankings, but two Wisconsin hospitals made the list:
- Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee: America's 50 Best Hospitals
- Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire: America's 100 Best Hospitals
When looking at other Midwestern states' hospitals, Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, were listed on the America's 250 Best Hospitals list.

Healthgrades says if all hospitals performed similarly to America’s 250 Best Hospitals, 174,081 lives could have been saved.
