A measure to ease the requirements for public safety workers hoping to claim post-traumatic stress disorder as a job-related injury is being revived in the Minnesota legislature.

State Sen. Dan Schoen, DFL-St. Paul, authored the measure, which was attached to a worker's compensation bill Monday morning. It had previously failed to make it out of a committee.

The measure, which would make PTSD a "presumptive illness" for firefighters, police and paramedics, passed the state Senate later on Monday and will progress to a House conference committee.
