After a number of setbacks, Minneapolis is moving one step closer to opening a cat cafe.

A concept originally slated to land in Dinkytown, the operators behind "Cafe Meow" announced over their Facebook page this week that they had signed a lease for a location on Hennepin Avenue in Uptown.

After an investor pulled out of the deal over the summer, several community members stepped up to provide funding for the venture. The next step, operators say, is to submit plans to the city for approval.
