MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A man is in custody after the report of shots inside an apartment building in Minneapolis' Loring Park neighborhood.
What we know
According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara, officers responded around 3 p.m. to 911 calls reporting gunfire from an apartment at E. Grant Street and 1st Avenue South. Upon arrival, police heard sounds resembling gunfire. Residents were evacuated, and a SWAT team was called to the scene.
During the incident, the man inside began breaking through the wall of his apartment and throwing debris out of a window.
Negotiators and SWAT officers made contact with the man, eventually distracting him and deploying a Taser before taking him into custody.
What we don't know
Police aren't sure if any shots were actually fired during the incident.
So far, officers haven't found a gun or any ballistic evidence.
Police also haven't identified the man, who is being taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police say he hurt himself while destroying his apartment. They do say the man has a history of mental illness.

Police are waiting on a search warrant to do a full search of the apartment.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
