MnDOT’s name a snowplow contest is back 2024-25 season
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - It's that time of year again for the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s (MnDOT) "Name a Snowplow" Contest.
How the MnDOT name a snowplow contest works
What we know: The public can submit their name suggestion for the 2024-2025 snowplow fleet starting at 9 a.m. on Dec. 10 though noon on Friday, Dec. 20.
MnDOT provided a few rules to keep in mind when submitting a snowplow name:
- Each person may only submit one name
- Submissions are limited to no more than 30 characters (including letters and spaces)
- Any submissions that include profanity or other inappropriate language will not be considered
- No politically inspired names
- No repeat of past winning names
What’s next: MnDOT will review all the submissions and select some of the best names, which the public can vote on in January. The eight winning snowplow names, one for each MnDOT district, will be announced at a later date.
