As more details emerge of what prompted Minneapolis police Officer Mohamed Noor to shoot and kill Justine Damond, questions swirl while he remains silent.

So far, the 31-year-old officer has refused to speak with state investigators.

One relative says this situation is devastating to everyone involved.

A relative spoke exclusively with our colleagues at 7 Network Australia.

“We feel so bad about this, we are traumatized ourselves,” said the relative. “This is so unfortunate if you wait for the investigation and see what happens it was an honest and sincere event that transpired."

Neighbors in the area say Noor is friendly and well-respected. He has even encouraged several of them to get into law enforcement.

His attorney told Fox 9 he had a "calling" to be a cop, becoming the first Somali-American police officer in the 5th District two years ago. But already in his short career, he has three citizen complaints filed against him. One was closed without discipline, the other two remain open.

Damond's family has hired the same high profile attorney who represented the Philando Castile family. Bob Bennett told Fox 9 her loved ones want justice and major changes to police protocols concerning body cameras and training. They may also file a civil lawsuit.
