There’s still plenty of uncertainty regarding the death of Prince, but one thing is for certain: There will be a late-night party at Paisley Park on May 14, because “Prince wanted this event to happen.”

Mixed Blood Theatre Company on Thursday confirmed its 40th Anniversary Gala will go on as planned at Paisley Park, followed by a Prince tribute dance after-party.  Tickets are on sale through May 6 at www.mixedblood.com/gala. Tickets for the gala range from $175 for general admission to $3,500 for a VIP table. Tickets for the after-party only are $40.

Mixed Blood Theatre statement

“Mixed Blood Theatre mourns, along with the world, the loss of Minnesota’s own Prince. The previously scheduled 40th Anniversary gala to be held at Paisley Park will take place as planned. Paisley Park staff has assured us that ‘Prince wanted this event to happen’. With that in mind, Mixed Blood looks forward with humility and delight to celebrating 40 years of art and social justice at REVELRY: A RED-TIE AFFAIR.”

Prince death investigation

A Carver County judge on Thursday approved a motion to seal the search warrant and documents related to Prince’s death and the search of Paisley Park. The search warrant and accompanying documents will be sealed until any potential criminal proceedings are initiated, or until 180 days elapse, whichever comes first.

The accompanying affidavit reads, "premature disclosure of the details provided in the search warrant and its accompanying documents may compromise this law enforcement investigation by causing the search or related searches to be unsuccessful, create a substantial risk of injury to an innocent person (s), or severely hamper this ongoing investigation."
