Police: Driver shot several times before crashing in northeast Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times while driving in northeast Minneapolis. The man later died at the hospital.
According to police, at about 4:49 p.m., Minneapolis police officers responded to the report of a crash at the intersection of Central Avenue and 14th Avenue Northeast.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the driver suffered multiple gunshot wounds before he crashed his car. Officers and bystanders began CPR, and the victim was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The Medical Examiner identified the victim as 39-year-old Steven Markey, of Maple Grove.
Police canvassed the area and found evidence of a shooting in the area of 14th Ave. NE and Tyler Street.
